Active Health
If you feel you could benefit from being more active but who may not be ready to make that first move or you may not know or be aware of all possible options indoors / outdoors / online etc. we can refer you to one of many services to discuss motivation, challenges and thoughts on physical activity.
We have our CLW service onsite at the practice. Community Link Workers (CLWs) use a social-prescribing approach to support individuals to look at what matters to them and help support them to connect with their local community resources in way that will help them reach their identified health and well-being goals.
We can also recommend Velocity Inverness. Velo City promotes positive mental and physical health in Inverness and the Highlands.
The Inverness Inclusive Cycling Experience is another community-led service by Cycling UK. Through the Inverness Inclusive Cycling Experience Tryouts you can have free try-outs and loans of accessible cycles. Their free taster session can build your confidence in using an accessible cycle. Their diverse selection of cycles cater to various capabilities & disabilities, ensuring everyone can find a suitable option to enhance their daily travels. Ask one of the clinicians when having a consultation about this.
This builds upon our work as the first practice in the city to issue a Parkrun prescription which links well with our status as an RCGP Parkrun practice.
